FBU accuse fire service of endangering firefighters
The Fire Service has been accused of playing "Russian Roulette" with firefighters' lives by sending them to deal with floods without proper training.
The Fire Brigade Union made the claim in the wake of severe floods in the north-east which saw around 150 people evacuated from their homes. Some had to be rescued by firefighters and coastguards. -
