  • Eddy Grant joins up with UB40

Eddy Grant has returned to the stage after 20 years away from the performing spotlight to support UB40.

Beginning his career in the 1960s, Eddy founded The Equals, a band that went on to achieve three top 10 hits within the first 18 months with their musical style that bridged pop music with Caribbean music.

However, at the age of 23, Grant suffered a heart attack which led him to re-evaluate his busy music career and consequently end his touring career with The Equals.

In the mid 80s, Grant moved back to Barbados commercial recording studio Blue Wave and attracted musicians such as Mick Jagger, The Rolling Stones, Sting and Elvis Costello.

I had just about everybody who is anybody come at some stage and make music, he said.

Eddy will be touring with UB40 throughout the UK until December 21. For more information on tour dates, visit
